Before we can teach we first have to learn. This means we are continually exploring East Africa in search of innovative farming techniques.
We look for successful demonstrations in local growing conditions and we ensure that what we teach is affordable and practical for rural implementation.
In search of these best practices we have visted many farmers, from Certified Organic to permaculture and we have participated in farm internships in several countries.
We never stop learning.
"Agricultural sustainability doesn't depend on agritechnology. To believe it does is to put the emphasis on the wrong bit of 'agriculture.' What sustainability depends on isn't agri- so much as culture.
Educating rural small plot farmers is at the heart of what we do, and we are passionate about getting knowledge into the hands of those who need it.
To reach rural farmers effectively we partner with local community based organizations and tap into their existing community networks delivering hands on, practical workshops in several areas including:
Integrated Pest Management
Small Animal Husbandry
