The rains have come to Lilongwe and it’s amazing how quickly everything comes back to life – including the people! After endless weeks of 30+ degree weather we we’re so pumped for the storm that we danced in the downpour. The scene was straight out of an Irish Spring commercial, except that the lightening was probably close enough to light us up.

When it rains in Malawi, it really knows how to bring it!
To give you an idea of the switch between seasons, I was uploading photos of our snake experience this morning and came across a picture I took of the driveway when I arrived in September and whoa what a difference. Here it is compared to another picture I took today. It’s hard to believe how quickly a little rain can transform the landscape.

The temperature is also much cooler the last couple of days. It’s been abnormally overcast and chilly, it’s about 17C today and I had to break out my hoodie, socks and shoes. Brrr… I think I might be in trouble when I arrive home to a real Canadian winter in December!
